Extended Run

I am in a roomful of people where the mean age is 60. A number of them are either cancer survivors or fighting stage 4s.

I am here on the invitation of my good friend Alex who was diagnosed just after Christmas last of stage 4 cancer.

What is surprising is that the room is full of laughter and health issues were brought to the open and aerated and sunshined. Though things are serious and maybe terminal, people are happy to be alive and with friends.

These people have lived their lives fully and seem happy to have reached this point in their lives.

A number of the people here mentored me – Ernie, Ming, Joey, William, Sonny and Jun. it is good to see them all in one room and all jovial and very welcoming.

I wish Alex luck for his second chemo session this week!
